VULTURINE GUINEAFOWL- the Vulturine guinea Fowl is a native of sub-Saharan Africa, from Uganda south into eastern Kenya. The most striking and largest of the guinea fowl, it is taller than its relatives. The vulturine Guinea fowl is a gregarious species, forming flocks outside the breeding season typically of about 25 birds. Their voices have been likened to creaking wagon wheels. This species’ food is seeds and small invertebrates. This Guinea fowl is terrestrial, and will run rather than fly when alarmed. Their voices have been likened to creaking wagon wheels with a loud “chink-chink-chink-chink-chink” sound.
