Description
The Yellowback Duiker (Cephalophus silvicultor) is one of the largest and most elusive species of forest-dwelling antelopes in Africa. Native to dense tropical rainforests across Central and West Africa, it gets its name from the distinct golden-yellow patch of fur along its back, used as a visual signal in thick underbrush.
These duikers are shy and secretive, preferring deep cover. They are omnivorous, feeding on fallen fruits, fungi, leaves, and occasionally small vertebrates. Their compact, muscular body and pointed snouts help them navigate the rainforest floor with ease.
This shoulder mount presents the duiker’s unique features, including its coarse coat, long face, and powerful neck structure. A rare piece ideal for collectors, educational use, or museums focused on African biodiversity.
