Description
The oribi (Ourebia ourebi) is one of Africa’s most elegant small antelopes, found in open grasslands and floodplains across countries like Kenya, Uganda, and South Africa. This species is known for its upright posture, long legs, and sharp alertness, making it well-adapted to spotting predators in its wide-open habitat.
Oribis mark territory with preorbital glands and often live in monogamous pairs or small groups. They play an important ecological role by maintaining grassland vegetation and supporting predator-prey balance in the savanna ecosystem.
