Description

The Nyala (Tragelaphus angasii) is one of Africa’s most visually striking antelopes, native to southern Africa’s bushveld and forested river valleys. Its long spiral horns and dark chestnut coat with bold white stripes make it a standout species. Nyalas are elusive browsers, primarily active during the early morning and late afternoon, feeding on leaves, twigs, and fruits. They play a key role in forest ecology by shaping plant growth and providing prey for large predators.
