Description
The Nilgai (Boselaphus tragocamelus), also known as the blue bull, is the largest Asian antelope and is native to the Indian subcontinent. Known for its horse-like body, short horns, and slate-gray to brownish coat, the Nilgai thrives in scrub forests and grasslands. It plays a vital ecological role as a grazer and browser. Though native to India, a feral population of Nilgai also exists in Texas, USA, introduced for game hunting. Their adaptability and unique physiology make them an important species for ecological research.
