WATER BUFFALO- The Water buffalo or the Asian water buffalo the largest member of the Bovini family, which includes yak, bison, African buffalo, various species of wild cattle, and others. Standing up to 6.2 feet at the shoulder the Water Buffalo is a site to behold. Water buffalo spend much of their day submerged in the muddy waters of Asia’s tropical and subtropical forests. When domesticated they are termed the “living tractor of the east”. Their sense of smell is very acute, and if a predator is detected, the group will advance together with horns lowered.
