Description

The Mongolian gazelle (Procapra gutturosa) is a grassland antelope native to the vast steppes of Mongolia, northern China, and parts of southern Russia. Known for participating in one of the largest remaining land migrations, Mongolian gazelles form herds that number in the hundreds of thousands. These agile animals are adapted to open, treeless landscapes where they graze on grasses and herbs. Their pale coloration helps them blend into the dry plains, while their remarkable speed offers protection from predators such as wolves.
