Description
The Limpopo Bushbuck (Tragelaphus scriptus roualeyni) is a subspecies of bushbuck native to the riparian forests, thickets, and rocky hillsides of southern Africa, particularly around the Limpopo River basin. It is known for its rich reddish-brown coat, subtle body striping, and long, spiral horns in males.
Bushbuck are solitary, shy browsers, feeding primarily on leaves, fruits, twigs, and low-growing shrubs. They are most active during dawn and dusk, using thick vegetation for cover and protection.
This shoulder mount features a well-preserved coat and 15” curved horns, making it a compelling piece for regional antelope education, rustic interiors, or wildlife interpretation centers.
