Description
The lesser kudu (Ammelaphus imberbis) is a forest-dwelling antelope native to eastern Africa, primarily found in dry acacia and commiphora bushlands. Known for their striking spiral horns and white body stripes, lesser kudus are elusive and well-adapted to dense vegetation. They are mostly nocturnal and crepuscular, feeding on leaves, shoots, fruits, and flowers. Despite their beauty, they remain one of Africa’s more secretive antelope species, relying on camouflage and stillness to avoid detection by predators.
