Description
BUSHPIG- The Bush pig is a member of the pig family. There are 6 different subspecies that are found in the eastern and southern parts of Africa. Inhabiting grasslands, woodlands, swamps and semi-arid areas, the bushpig feeds primarily on roots, tubers, rhizomes, fruits, crops, earthworms and insect larvae. Bush pig occasionally follows monkeys and collects their leftovers. Upper tusks of bushpig are poorly visible. Lower tusks (elongated canine teeth) are large, curved and sharp. They are used mainly as a weapon against predators.
