Description

The Bongo (Tragelaphus eurycerus) is one of the largest and most visually striking forest antelopes in Africa. Native to the dense rainforests of Central and West Africa, it is known for its vivid chestnut coat, narrow vertical white stripes, and spiral horns found in both males and females.

Bongos are shy, nocturnal grazers that feed on leaves, grasses, bark, and forest fruits. Their coloration and markings provide excellent camouflage in the filtered light of the forest understory.

This shoulder mount captures the elegance and rarity of the species, with beautifully preserved markings and realistic taxidermy detail. Ideal for educational settings, wildlife collections, or interior environments inspired by African biodiversity.
