Description

BEAVER- Beavers are the second largest rodent in the world after the South American Capybara. With powerful jaws and strong teeth, they fell trees in order to build homes and dams, often changing their environment in ways few other animals can. Beavers waste nothing when taking down trees, eating parts of the tree and using the other to build their famous dams. Although they are social animals, beavers prefer to “work” independently with very little contact with each other. A beaver’s tail is a little like a Swiss Army knife: it is used as a rudder, a third leg while standing upright, as a lever to drag branches and can be slapped on the water to warn other beavers of danger.
