Sika Deer

Shop our collection of Sika Deer Taxidermy mounts. The Sika Deer is a Eurasian member of the deer family, also known as the Japanese Deer (the name comes from the Japanese word for deer). The species is overabundant in Japan and has been introduced to various other parts of the world. The sika deer is one of the few deer species that does not lose its spots upon reaching maturity. The mainland subspecies have larger and more obvious spots, in contrast to the Taiwanese and Japanese subspecies, whose spots are nearly invisible.
